One of the Many Tropic Star Magic Moments of 2004

After years of amazing Black Marlin fishing on the Zane Grey Reef, this year our fleet headed out to the 15 mile drop off as well. We fished more artificial lures outside. Our normal 90/10 Blacks and Blues mix became approximately 60% Blacks, 35% Blues and 5% Striped Marlin!

Our Black Marlin numbers did not drop! Adding Blues and Stripes to our amazing Black Marlin catches made it a season to remember! There were numerous Fly Rod and Junior Angler World Records broken as well.

NOVEMBER:

The Marlin action was hot from day one. Don Tyson's mother ship Horizons was anchored in the bay for almost four months. His fishing machine, the Tyson's Pride, with Captain Terry at the helm, had a Marlin every day in November.

In 62 days of fishing, they released 52 Marlin and 300 Sails.

Our 2003 Torneo Tropic Star had great fishing and we came very close to giving away the Grand Prize, a car!
