Team Mancha Blanca:
Darold Holcomb, Gary Cummings, & Luis Farias

The Marlin action was hot from day one. Don Tyson's mother ship Horizons was anchored in the bay for almost four months. His fishing machine, the Tyson's Pride, with Captain Terry at the helm, had a Marlin every day in November. In 62 days of fishing, they released 52 Marlin and 300 Sails.

Our 2003 Torneo Tropic Star had great fishing and we came very close to giving away the Grand Prize, a car!

The first two weeks with seven boats fishing we raised 33 Marlin Ð four estimated at over 500 lbs. Two guests applied for seven Fly-Rod World Records! Ocean fishing yielded a 200 lb plus Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado over 60 lbs, Cubera Snapper in the 50 lb range, and inshore a 25 lb Snook was caught in the Piñas River mouth. Fly Rod World Record Holder, Margot Vincent, returned looking for more Sailfish records. First day out, she hooked a Black Marlin. Margot ended her week with two potential Fly Rod World Records for Sailfish, a 111 lb on 20 lb tippet and another 113.7 lb on 16 lb tippet.

Alissa and Shane Voliva from Alaska BOTH caught their first Marlin on their last day out of 6 Marlin raised! Phil Vaughn and Janet Maxwell each released their first Sail and first Black Marlin during their visit.
