What a great week of fishing. Te bite was great offshore. Some big ones were around and a few of our guests found out firsthand what it feels like to wrangle with 750+ lbs Marlin. Inshore, although not the fast pace fishing we all know so well here, produced some very large fish too.
David and Amy Bulthuis brought their son Chet down to Pinas Bay this week for a four day fishing trip. Well Chet hit the jackpot on day 2. He tagged and released his first BIG Blue Marlin estimated at around 800 lbs. His dad also had his shot at his first Black Marlin and got a good release. Amy also released her first Pacific Sailfish. Congratulations to all.

Mark, Stephen, Christopher and Matthew Szabo were also here this week. Matthew was the star of the show, releasing his first Black Marlin, Blue Marlin and Pacific Sailfish to earn himself a Grand Slam for the week. Both Chris and Stephen got their first Pacific Sails.

John and Tiffany Meek brought their two boys Tom and Jacob down to the lodge this week for 6 days of fishing. Tiffany released her first Blue Marlin on this trip. Well done tiffany. The boys had a great time. Every afternoon we were entertained by their fish stories; the big dorados they caught and sailfish released. By the way, Jacob and Tom released their first Pacific Sails. Dad also had his fair share of action and released a nice Blue Marlin.

D.W. Distribution brought their friends down (13 guests) to Tropic Star this week. It was all their first time here. Michael Littlejohn released his first Black Marlin estimated at 350 lbs and first Pacific Sailfish. He also wrestled with a 180+ lb Yellowfin tuna and won. , Jimi Mankins, Aron McLeroy and Eric Smith also released their first Black Marlin around 400 lbs. Randy Curtis released his first Blue marlin.

Jack Wilkerson, Benton Goodnight, Eric Smith, Jack Wilkerson, Tracy Smith, Samantha Smith, David Hagler Sr. and Jr. and Erasto Espino all released their first Pacific Sailfish this week.

Paul Stevens landed a 171lb Yellowfin Tuna.
