Fishing

Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado, Roosterfish

Tropic Star Lodge client with a marlin on the lineLast week the crews continued to work the reef, and although it seemed slow at times, those you stuck it out were rewarded with marlin. The bite was still consistent but the billfish seemed scattered over a wide area. Mid week the Yellowfin Tuna schools showed up just south west of the reef and the crews wasted no time getting our guests on them The fish weren’t monsters, most in the 40-80 lb range. Yes, there was plenty of sashimi for dinner. Catching dorado never seems to be a problem here and a few 50+ lb fish were taken as well. Dorado fingers after fishing is a real treat down here; there’s never enough!
