Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado
With Christmas just around the corner, things are pretty hectic around the lodge. The fishing has been really explosive last week and there are really good numbers of billfish out on the edge. Some really big Black Marlin up to 500 lbs were released and the Blue Marlin bite has also been great. Mixed in with the billfish were good size Yellowfin Tunas and huge Dorado.

Bill Glendening and his wife Cheryl ad an amazing trip. Bill released his first Black Marlin estimated at 500 lbs and Pacific Blue Marlin that went around 350 lbs. Cheryl released her very first Pacific Blue Marlin estimated at 300 lbs and a nice 130 lb Yellowfin Tuna. Their friends Chuck and Cindy Davis were also here last week and Chuck released his first Pacific Blue Marlin around 350 lbs and a 100 lb Pacific Sailfish . Cindy had a little better luck with the billfish. She released a huge Black Marlin estimated at 500 lbs and also released her first Pacific Sailfish and a trophy sized Yellowfin Tuna round 120 lbs.
We also welcomed Manuel "Paco" Suarez and his wife Maria Rivera from Puerto Rico. Maria released her first Pacific Blue Marlin estimated at 450 lbs and Black Marlin, 400 lbs. John Furrh was really excited with his first Black Marlin estimated at 500 lbs. Lacy Brakefield also released his first Pacific Blue Marlin around 350 lbs. Wayne Hadley also released his first Black Marlin that went around 400 lbs and managed to released his first Pacific Sailfish on fly!
We also welcomed back our friends Matt Eastman, Richard Christensen and Kyle Walcott from the popular television show Wanna Go Fishing. This was their 7th season to Piñas Bay and we really enjoy hosting these guys……They brought down their surprise guest Anoop Bhandari from Atlanta for a surprise trip of a lifetime. Anoop had a lot of action including 4 nice Marlin that just could not stay hooked up but he managed to release his first Pacific Sailfish estimated at 120 lbs and a huge Yellowfin Tuna estimated at 130 lbs. He also had lots of big Dorado action offshore.
We all hope that all our TSL friends and family enjoy the Christmas Holidays and until next week MERRY CHRISTMAS!
