Summertime is upon us and as we begin our July month, the fishing has been very explosive. Huge schools of Sailfish have showed up offshore and just last week we released over 200 fish. The Marlin bite is also getting better as the weeks roll by and some lucky anglers have released some really big fish. Black marlin, Blue Marlin and even a few Striped Marlin have been caught. There’s decent numbers of Dorado offshore as well. Inshore seemed a little difficult at times but out crews have been able to put our guests on some trophy size Roosterfish and Cubera Snapper.
We welcomed the Carpenter family back and this time Scott brought his wife Kristi, daughter Hannah and son Ryan down for a summer vacation. Hannah had released a fish of a lifetime; a Black Marlin estimated at around 750 lbs that she fought for 3 hours. Lewis Mc Donnell and James Flynn both released their first Black Marlin estimated at 500 lbs and Corey Johnson released her first Black Marlin around 400 lbs. Joe Heironimus also had great luck, time with a big Blue Marlin estimated at 500 lbs and Lewis Scherer, Stephen Price and Joe Mc Donnell released their first Pacific Blue Marlin estimated at 400 lbs.
Furman Cullum brought his sons down to TSL for their first time and Rudy scored big, releasing his first Pacific Blue marlin estimated at 300 lbs and Pacific Sailfish 100 lbs. TJ, Tom and Chris all released their first Pacific Sailfish last week for a total of 27 sailfish released. Rodrigo Perez released his first Striped Marlin that went 190 lbs and his brothers Ricardo and Santiago both got their first Sailfish release. Bob Dunnigan got a shot at another Striped Marlin around 150 lbs and also got the release. David Dunnigan released his first Pacific Sailfish estimated at 120 lbs. Steve Korcheck and George Hemminger released their first Pacific Sailfish, both over 130 lbs. Tyler and Colton Samsill also released their first Pacific Sails in the 100 lb range.
Can’t wait to post results for the next week and as I write this report the boats are reporting double and triple hookups offshore. Just yesterday, Sunday 22nd July, 5 Blue Marlin and 81 Sailfish were released. It’s on fire and were all stoked.
Enjoy the great photos….Lots of variety.
