Every June thru August Tropic Star Lodge hosts the Kids Club event, where any child 16 years of age or under can fish for free with a paying adult. It’s a great way to introduce the next generation of angler to the wonderful world of Sportfishing. John and Melanie Pepper did just that and brought their 9 year old granddaughter Chloe down to Pinas Bay, Panama for a wonderful three day fishing trip.
Prior to leaving the USA Chloe called her grandmother at least three times per day to make sure she packed everything she needed for the trip. She’s is very competitive and even though she’s almost always the smallest swimmer at school competitions, she’s always the fastest in her age group! Chloe’s determined alright; for three days she cranked in every fish that hit the line, saying “I’m gonna get you in fish and I’m not gonna stop till you touch the boat.”
So just what did Chloe catch in three days; 1 Striped Marlin, 7 sailfish, 1 Roosterfish, 1 Almaco Jack, 1 Yellowfin Tuna and several Bonitos, and despite the pouring rain and choppy seas she never wanted to call it a day, even when it was past lines up time at 3:00 pm
We all look forward to seeing the Pepper’s again next season. I am certain that in the future the name Chloe Pepper will be known thorough the Sportfishing fraternity. It’s already been etched into the TSL memoirs. Congratulations Chloe, from all of us at the lodge.
Cheers,
Albert Battoo
