Tropic Star's very own stand-up tackle Marlin angler, Yvonne Buckley, along with her trainer, coach, photographer and husband, Richard Buckley, just reached a milestone achievement that would be envied by serious anglers anywhere in the world. One hundred marlin on stand up gear is no longer a lonely number when it comes to Yvonne and her tenacity for billfishing at TSL.

This past week marked the 46th trip that the Buckley`s have made it to the lodge in search of His Majesty the Black Marlin and Pacific Blue Marlin. The commitment to this personal quest incorporates technique, drive, athletics ( if you are an early riser at the lodge you might see Yvonne doing her daily 100 laps in the pool every morning before heading out in one of our 31ft. The 100^th Marlin released on Stand-up tackle has been anticipated by many guests that have had the opportunity to be at Tropic Star Lodge to witness Yvonne in action. On their last night we celebrated this milestone alongside other guests, namely Guy Harvey and his daughter Jessica, film crew, and other guests. The Baked Alaska was also dedicated to our dearest friends and family, Richard and Yvonne Buckley.
