The ultimate fishing trip is a tall order. Not just any place offers the prime location and excellent services Tropic Star does, and if you're looking for a fishing adventure that goes beyond what other marlin fishing charters present, Tropic Star has everything you need to experience it.
Tropic Star Lodge is a fishing resort nestled on the coast of Panama in Pinas Bay that has more than earned its reputation as being one of the best places for big game fishing in the world, Robb Resort Magazine has rated it as the number one saltwater fishing resort. It's even a personal haven for Guy Harvey, who has a book of art commemorating Pinas Bay, Panama for the beautiful and spectacular fish the swim right off shore.
The fishing experience at Tropic Star Lodge is designed to provide the most memorable fishing trip possible. Boats leave every morning at 6:30 for all-day fishing trips, and then return at 3:30. Our boats are equipped with high-quality fishing gear and a crew of people ready to help you land some of the mightiest fish in the ocean. In addition to blue and black marlin that can reach 1,000 pounds, you are also likely to encounter dorado, tarpon, grouper, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, and more. Inshore fishing provides yields that are just as impressive with huge roosterfish reaching 100 pounds and cubera snapper reaching 70 pounds. The best time to catch both blue and black marlin is June through March, but for the best bites, come between December and March.
The Tropic Star Experience goes even further beyond the realm of unforgettable fishing trips. The lodge sits right on the sparkling waters of Pinas Bay and behind it looms the lush tropical rainforest. Snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, and relaxing by the pool are all great ways to rest up between intense fishing trips. Because of the secluded nature of the resort, visitors never have to worry about noisy cities, honking cars, or other distractions that characterize resorts in busy areas. In fact, the only way to reach Tropic Star is by boat or plane. The resort itself only accommodates 36 people at time, so overcrowding is never a problem.
In the native language, "Panama" is a word meaning "abundance of fish," and at Tropic Star Resort, we certainly live up to this title. Unlike other marlin fishing charters, we have location on our side, and with more than 250 broken World Records under our belt, we know how to help you successfully land a 1000 pound marlin. The waters off of Pinas Bay are teeming with the giants of the ocean, and with the help of our fishing crews and excellent equipment, you can came face to face with one.
