August 26 - Sept 2

This week we experienced a strong marlin bite. There were 19 Marlin tagged and released among the club boats. Several private boats reported hot marlin action as well. Two Tarpon made cameo appearances this week. It was a fun week with the Yim group and the Overstreets. I can’t leave out Mr. Vedder and Raleigh, or James and Lynn Herlien.

Miss Spain was excited to report 5 Marlin bites, releasing 2. This was very exciting for John and Chrisdale. They managed to release a Grand Slam for the week! John caught his first Black and his first Blue Marlin this trip. Chrisdale released her first Sailfish.

James Herlien released a Grand Slam as well. Lynn released her first Blue Marlin and her first Wahoo plus a nice Roosterfish.

Paul and Clint Bracher both released their first Pacific Sailfish.

83-year-old Charlie Overstreet released his first Black Marlin. Leo Sullivan released his first Roosterfish of this life. Nancy Sullivan released her first Pacific Sailfish. Karen Faulkner released her first Sail and her first Roosterfish. Debbie Erickson released her first Pacific Sailfish while fishing with Mark Overstreet.

Shelby McIntyre released her first Pacific Sailfish and Diane Coffin released her first Black Marlin. Kelly O’Conner caught her first Pacific Blue Marlin while Ron Naden helped out with the others.

Sam Garrett released his first Blue Marlin. Chris Ferry released his first Black Marlin and his first Cubera Snapper. The snapper was roughly 45lbs.

Drew Yim and Serg Shur had a blast catching Serg’s first Blue Marlin. She was a little bigger than 300lbs. The most amazing thing was that Serg was able to catch the fish after breaking the record for the most beers consumed by 1 angler in a day - 48 Panamas! Serg also caught his first Pacific Sailfish.

Jonathan Ima released his first Blue Marlin, Roosterfish and caught his first Yellowfin Tuna.
