Hennie & Ursula Marais manage to keep you in fish stories. |
December 6 - 10
Good all around fishing, we released 1 blue marlin, 1 black marlin and 37 sailfish.
The sails were in small schools and when we found them the action was smoking hot. Dolphin, amberjacks, tuna, snapper and roosterfish made for exciting fishing days.
The Action:
Don and Mireya Miller along with Eric Mackie all released their first pacific sailfish - they released 10 in one day.
James Curtis fly-fished on the Miss Australia and he released 5 sails on fly on his first fishing day. Later James fished the rocks and caught roosters, snappers and amberjacks. The rocks have a lot of action and are great fun to fish.
Justin Farr, Jack Sr. and Jack Jr. Jordan fished the Miss Tropic Star. They released 14 sailfish along with a number of dolphin and tuna. It was Justin’s first sailfish - congrats!
Paul and Becky Simmons fished on the Miss England and they released 3 sailfish. Looking for that magic marlin takes patience and dedication - they don’t come easy. On their last day it paid off as they raised 4 marlin and released 2 - a magical 400lb black marlin and then a 300lb plus blue marlin. Amazing stuff only at Tropic Star Lodge
The reef is loaded with bait, sea conditions are perfect, inshore and offshore bite is on, it looks like we are in for another amazing fishing season at Tropic Star Lodge!
See you all soon,
Hennie
