Black AMAZING 49 Marlin releases in 6 days! Of course we always have a bunch of new clients that get their first ever billfish here and then walk home with certificates for sails, blacks and blues - doesn't seem half fair but that's beginners luck for you. Of course a lot has to do with logistics and Tropic Star is just an amazing fishing spot. We had 25-anglers catching their first ever marlin with two anglers each catching a grand slam on the same day on the same boat! Well done!

The Action:

Hot, hot action on the Miss Tropic Star, they released two blacks, two blues and two sails on Thursday (the sails were the hard ones to get) well done to anglers Bill Gillespie and Steve Carlson on their grand slams.

Fleet Miss Puerto Rico raised 11 marlin releasing 4 blacks and 2 blues with anglers Shep Johnson and Michael Pierdinock - what a week!

The Miss Darien released a marlin a day for 5 days running. Lucky anglers - Fred, Theresa and their 15 year old son, Michael McComas.

The Miss Alaska and Island star each released 6 marlin with anglers Mike Riley, David Theis, Floyd and Chris Hatch. Floyd has been fishing all over the world and has been on many a marlin trip without any marlin showing up so he was very happy with their week. Chris Hatch ended up with a grand slam for the week.

Michael Speed and his son Mike started the week off a little slowly but went home very happy and promised to be back.

The Belk family who have been clients of Tropic Star Lodge since the 60's had a super trip. Granddaughter Tricia released a 550lb blue marlin and a lovely 50lb roosterfish. Grandson David got his first marlin as well and spent 6 hours fighting a nice black.
