March 6-13, 2004

The marlin bite is on again, slowed down for 3 days and then came back with a vengeance! Its just amazing that they have been biting since October and are still on the bite!

14 black marlin, 12 blue marlin, 3 striped marlin and 136 sails released!

The typical cold water for this time of the year is not as severe as in the past.

We had three clients catch a grand slam for the week and a super grand slam!

THE ACTION:

The Miss Australia released 3 blacks, 2 blues, 1 striped marlin and 14 sails. Anglers Lynn Conley with is son Michael and friend Irwin Steinpress were the lucky ones and Michael had a super grand slam week - this was his first time bill fishing!

The Miss Panama released 2 blacks, 1 blue and 1 striped marlin with anglers Rafael Monjo and his daughter Anna. Rafael has booked for the next 3 years.

The Miss Tropic Star with Philipe and Saskia Touret released 1 black and 24 sails.

Our Peruvian guests Elias Bentin, Carlos Bentin, Elias Ricardo and Ricardo Mulanovich fished on the Miss England and released 2 blacks, 1 blue and 16 sailfish - well done gentleman.

Stephen and Yvonne Collier from the UK were very excited with his first black, first sail and then a "Grande" huge black marlin released later in the week.

The Gary Boesch group had a great time. Some guys liked the rainforest more than fishing and opted to explore the national geographic forest and waterfalls. The rest fished and had mixed luck, releasing marlins and sails.

We had 34 first ever certificates for anglers releasing their first ever marlin or sailfish. These guys spoiled for life!

First Black Marlin:
Carlos Bentin, Stephen Collier, Samuel P Dennison II, Charles Bayne, Larry Lee Kemp, Mayes Dan, Irwin Steinpress, Michael Conley.

Samuel P DennisonII, Black, blue marlin and sailfish Charles Bayne, Black Blue marlin and sailfish Mayes Dan Black blue marlin and sailfish

Nowhere in the world can first timers catch this number and variety of marlins and it was only an average week for Tropic Star.

Tight Lines,
Hennie
