March 12 - 18
This was a humbling week at Tropic Star Lodge. There
were 2 Black Marlin and 12 Pacific Sails
tagged this week. The tuna were here in droves. The
crews took advantage of this, catching 70 Yellowfin
Tuna. 10 Dorado and a lonely Wahoo were among the
other pelagics species that helped the chef mix things
up.
The reef fishing was not too shabby. The crews
reported catches of large Roosterfish and Cubera
Snapper. 9 Roosters were caught and most were
released. 17 Cubera Snapper, 11 Amberjacks and
6 Grouper gave our anglers a workout.
Paul Farrell caught his first Black Marlin as well as
his first Pacific Sailfish aboard Miss Darien with
Captain Walter. Scott Farrell released his first Black
Marlin as well.
Lorri Guilbeau caught her first Pacific Sail Fish aboard
Miss Spain with Captain Maso.
Randy Wilkerson released his first Pacific Sail Fish
aboard Miss England with Captain Gustavo.
John and Jeff Paula released their first Pacific
Sails aboard Miss Puerto Rico with Captain Armando.
Richard Maltz caught his first Pacific Sail Fish
aboard Miss Island Star with Captain Gavilan.
Take care everyone and we will have much more to
report in the near future.
