Hennie & Ursula Marais manage to keep you in fish stories. |
March 18 - 24
The crews managed to release 31 Billfish.
The bait is popping up all over as the water warms
back up. Turtles, flying fish, big schools of goggle
eyes, frigate birds and huge schools of porpoise are
in the area.
The sun has been out, doing it's part to liven things
up around here.
13 Black Marlin tagged this week. The largest Black
Marlin for the week was an estimated 450 pounds. There
were 16 Sails released as well. Add 2 Striped Marlin
and you get this weeks billfish report. One of the
Stripes was estimated to weigh 250 pounds.
71 Yellowfin Tuna, 8 Dorado and 2 wahoo hit the deck
as well.
The reef fishing was productive. The Grouper have
been cooperative and so have the Roosterfish,
Amberjack and Snapper. Most of these fish have been
well fed, and it shows! They fight like mad and are a
handfull when you try to get a good photo just prior to
release. We encourage anglers to release Roosterfish
and Cubera Snapper.
Michael Falcone caught his first Black Marlin aboard
Miss Alaska. She was estimated to be 300 pounds.
D. Harrigan tagged his First Black Marlin aboard Miss
Puerto Rico.
Tight lines everybody,
Christopher Dinwiddie
