John Shaw was also a previous visitor to Tropic Star, this time he was accompanied by his son George and some of his friends Mike Wisenbacker, Cliff Condry and Robert Reid. Mike and Robert, due to work commitments had to unfortunately leave early, not before Mike released a 400lb Blue Marlin. Then it was the turn of the father and son, John and George both released their first Black Marlin.

Larry I’ Anson and Rick Robins Jr. were joined by Philip “Boot” LeBoutillier from his island hideaway in the Bahamas’. Rick got the week off to a great start with a monster 650lb first Black Marlin. Larry, after just having landed his first Black Marlin of 500lbs, was still in the chair when a 400lb Blue Marlin swallowed the next bait and he was in for another fight. Larry released the fish after some spectacular airtime by the fish for his first Blue Marlin. Later the same day, Boot’s turn came up and he released his first Black Marlin to round off their week.

Billy Coley once again visited us with his sons, Billy Jr, Norman, grandson Bo and their friend Joe Henkel. With the action being just as hot for them while sharing two boats. Bo got the ball rolling with his first Black Marlin of 400lbs. Norman followed his son with a 450lb Black the following day for his first. Then Joe was in the hot seat and released his first Blue Marlin of 250lbs. After having watched them all, Billy rounded off the week with his Black Marlin.

Bill Taggart and Paul Smith had a week they will be talking about for a while. Bill caught his first Blue Marlin and Paul his first Black Marlin. Then when they went inshore they each caught Rooster fish in the 50-60lb range together with Amberjack. They then shared a 80lb Yellowfin tuna hooked on bait spinning rod that took about an hour to land.

Tom Mantor and Josh Generazio fish regularly back home and decided to ask their wives, Melinda and Stephanie, to join them on a trip to Tropic Star. Tom and Josh started the week off sharing a Black Marlin that took two baits. Stephanie released her first Pacific Sailfish the following day, while Melinda caught one and Josh an 80lb Yellow fin tuna. Josh was again in the chair, after a day of R&R at the white beach, when a Black Marlin took the bait and he got to release his first official Black Marlin. Tom could not be outdone by his fishing partner and waited till the end and caught his first Black Marlin, another 600lb monster

Larry Day was hot out of the blocks when he released a Black Marlin of 400lbs for his first. Then he and Jeff Martin enjoyed some good Sailfish action together with Dorado and Tuna while fishing with Captain Alberto on the Tropic Star.

Having has a long journey from France Charles and Suzanne Raffetto, Bernard and Yves Jouitteau could not have had more fun. Yves started it off with his first Black Marlin. Then they had a great time with 60-80lb Yellow fin tuna, and then Yves added another Black Marlin to his tally. Charles was hot on his heels with his first Black Marlin of 350lbs. Suzanne completed their week when she caught her first Blue Marlin on Friday.

Cesar and Edwin were back fishing with Chito after the great time they had last year. It started out just as good when Edwin caught a 367lb Black Marlin. Later in the week they each caught a Black Marlin on the same day to give them a total of 3 for the week, once again two very happy anglers.
