Of course Tropic Star Lodge is a stunning example of a tropical paradise with it's white sandy beaches and verdant rainforest surroundings, but there is another huge benefit to visiting this tropical Panama: there is no better place on Earth to catch huge game fish. Panama is in one of the most biodiverse, most biologically thriving areas in the world, and with plenty of huge fish populating the waters just offshore, Panama is a fishing mecca. Blue marlin fishing is one of Tropic Star Lodge's specialties, so if you're looking for a place to land some of the ocean's giants, you've found it.

In the native tongue, Panama actually means "Abundance of Fish." As you will see if you visit, this name couldn't be more accurate. The area around Panama is world renowned for its unmatched game fishing. All during the year, you can pull in huge fish, including blue and black marlin, grouper, snapper, roosterfish, tuna, wahoo, and so much more. Fishing for blue marlin is only for the most elite of fishermen, as wrestling a 150-1000 pound fish into your boat is no easy task.

While they can be caught anytime during the year, the prime season for blue marlin fishing is December through the middle of March. Other species of fish, such as yellowfin tuna, almaco jacks, wahoo, and black marlin have their special seasons, but they too can be caught throughout the year.

Inshore fishing is just as outstanding as the offshore fishing. Roosterfish and cubera snapper fishing is incredible. Many of these fish even reach the 50 pound mark.

Robb Resort Magazine rated Tropic Star as the number one saltwater fishing resort in the world, and for good reason. At Tropic Star Lodge, IGFA World Records are regarded as challenges to be overcome. At Tropic Star Lodge, over 250 IGFA World Records have been topped, and Tropic Star Lodge holds 50 current IGFA World Records.

During your stay at Tropic Star Lodge, fishing boats depart from the docks at 6:30 in the morning and return around 3:30. This occurs for several days in a row, meaning there will never be a shortage of fishing opportunities. Don't forget to bring your lucky rod, reel, and tackle as well. There is definitely plenty of quality supplies at the resort and on the boats, but bringing your own is recommended.

There are plenty of places on Earth to go fishing, but few can match the proliferation and diversity of Tropic Star Lodge in Panama. Another added perk to this location is the fact that the resort only accommodates 36 people at a time, meaning there are no noisy crowds or touristy areas. Instead, you and the 35 other people will quickly become friends, swapping fishing stories and exploring the surrounding region together. Not only are you in one of the best fishing spots on the entire planet, but you're in a a lush tropical paradise that feels like something straight out of National Geographic magazine. This is all just part of the Tropic Star experience. People return year after year to experience some of the best blue marlin fishing around, and so if you're looking to land a huge marlin yourself, we'll save a spot on a fishing boat for you.
